Rivers of London Covers Nominated For A Pornokitsch

Every writer dreams of having a good cover for his baby novel and I was very lucky when Patrick Knowles combined a swirly tentacled font with Stephen Walter's fantastic rendition of London's psychogeography to create an immediately distinctive and enticing cover for mine. Many a time I have been approached by customers who've bought the book on the basis of the cover alone.

So it is entirely fitting that the equally splendidly designed Pornokitsch site has nominated that cover for an Inky Tentacle with the winner to be announced at the SFX Weekender in February.

Aha! And now, after years of seeing it referenced by other people, I finally, via the PornoKitsch site, have actually heard a certain song from "Avenue Q". It's linked from their "NoNoNoWriMo" piece, about halfway down the list of "things to do instead of writing your novel today"...

See, the Law of Unintended Consequences means you never know when a humble blog post is going to be of immense benefit to your fellow man/woman/overgrown kid. =:o}

I definitely picked the book up first because of the title, and second due to the artwork. Ever since I flipped through a copy of London's Lost Rivers by Paul Talling last year, I've kind of had a bit of a crush on the concept...

Love your book, and that artwork is so flawless that I would actually like to buy a print of it to hang in my living room.
